Heartland Medical is the authorized Midwest distributor for the Keomed/Penlon America SP3 machine and the Paragon SC430 Penlon machine. The Penlon company has been building anesthesia systems for 60 years. Penlon has a large presence in the world wide market with 12,000 machines in use and over 40,000 vaporizers sold. Their machines are CE and ISO-9001 certified with FDA approval. The machines have a very traditional feel with metered flow tubes, bellows and vaporizers but offer advanced features found only in more radically designed units. The SP3 model offers six modes of ventilation including Spont, CMV, PCV, PSV, SIMV and SMMV. The machine can display Pressure Flow loops utilizing the internal non-disposable lifetime flow sensor. All of these features are standard and yet the unit’s sale price is nearly half competitive units.
